Benefits of Home Schooling

As each year goes by more and more parents are seriously considering homeschooling as a viable alternative to mainstream school. Why is this?

Sixteen years ago my husband and I made the decision to move our young family of five children from a rural area in Western Australia to Perth and with that move we also made the decision to home school. The reasons were many and so were the benefits.

Here is a list of what we feel were the greatest benefits:

*The end to the ever growing problem of bullying within our children's education environment. What a relief!

*A very flexible daily schedule, much to everyones' delight.

*The freedom to choose topics our children were interested in and the willingness to change if there was a lack of interest in a particular topic.

*Each child can be given as much one-on-one attention as necessary, therefore allowing for quick pick-up of any weaknesses or problems in their curriculum areas.

*The children were eager to get into their work each day, knowing that much time for favourites was available when the formal side was covered.

*It was only a short time from when the children were taken out of school to see what each child's' strengths and weaknesses were. For example, our son developed a deep love for fishing and story writing. Our daughters all learnt musical instruments and were keenly interested in a wide variety of crafts and hobbies.

*The children became very self-motivated and self-disciplined learners which qualities have carried over into their adult lives and work habits. They all love acquiring new skills to this day, because of their love for learning.

*If anyone was sick at any time the children were so far ahead in their program that it did not matter and ample time off could be given without fear of falling behind.

These are but a few of the many benefits that we have found come from homeschooling.

In the United States, there are three main classes of accountants: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). CPAs provide a wide range of services to the public, including auditing, accounting, litigation, tax, and financial advisory services. CIAs generally work in an auditing capacity for employers, while CMAs generally work for employers, but might also serve the public in a more limited manner than CPAs. CPAs are licensed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In the UK, Canada and Australia, the Chartered Accountant (CA) is the equivalent to the U.S. CPA.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, median annual wage and salary earnings of pharmacists in May 2004 were $84,900. While no degree program can guarantee a position or salary, online degrees in pharmacy continue to be a safe bet for professionals looking for career longevity.
